The application process is extremely easy. You can apply online or you can come into the office and apply here on campus. One of the great things about Amarillo College is that there is no application fee.
The main three things I would recommend all students have ready when applying is make sure that addresses are provided-- residence and mailing if it's different than the residence-- complete all the residency information and social is not required, but very helpful, particularly for later on retrieving login information.
Your college readiness could be shown either through taking the TSI or having other test scores such as the ACT or SAT, or even having college credit from other universities or colleges.
So students who are a little hesitant about taking the TSI, we do have a Smart Start Center which provides TSI boot camps and ramp up sessions to help students prepare for the TSI. And they're the ones who will help you complete the MAPs as well.
Maps stands for the "Mandatory Pre-assessment Activity." Everyone taking the TSI must first have a MAP session. The MAP session is about 30 minutes it can be done virtually or in-person and it is offered to help educate you about the TSI before it begins.
