Here at Amarillo College, we know that the students that are coming to us have a life outside of what they are planning to pursue. So they need something that's going to work with their busy life schedule. So we have online programs that are completely online. We also have evening classes, as well as early morning, mid-afternoon, and anything in between. So we really serve every demographic possible in every way that we can.
For those who are looking to either get their GED or learn ESL, we have this offering called, "Career Ready You" which allows the student to go through that GED or ESL coursework simultaneously with college-level curriculum.
The Advocacy and Resource Center or "ARC" is staffed by full-time social workers and their entire job and their full presence on campus is dedicated to making sure that a student does not have to decide between surviving and succeeding. So whatever it is that's pulling you away from being successful in your classroom, we have the support and resources to push you back in and give you that support that you need.
Our Financial Aid department is incredible. They truly have our students' best interests at heart. I know that they help students with one-on-one FAFSA assistance. They also work in conjunction with the Amarillo College Foundation. The foundation here on campus offers more than a million dollars in scholarships every year.
So for anybody who's thinking about whether or not they should take that next step and go to college or what they're going to do with it or how they're going to make it work, the answer is, "You are entitled you are worthy and you can make it work. We are here to help you with that."
