The best part of coming to Amarillo College is that you don't have to fit yourself into our plans, we devise plans that fit you. You're gonna get to deal with an advisor, who knows you, cares about you, can see your full record, can recommend the kinds of faculty that would respond to your learning style. You're not going to have to do this on your own. The entire college is here to help you.
A lot of our students that come from the surrounding high schools, you know, they're used to that smaller classroom size. And so you get that here, that ratio of students to faculty is a big key thing. Our staff truly cares about our students. And so getting to know them, making sure they're on the right pathway to completion, communities, organizations, those types of things-- are really a great way for them to get connected to feel part of the institution.
And I think data shows that if students don't feel connected to the college, then the likelihood of them continuing on continues to diminish. And so connecting them from the beginning to organizations to clubs, I think is definitely essential to their success. It's our culture, and it's who we are.
The number one job description at Amarillo College is to serve students like you. Whether it's in the bookstore, or with your advisor, or with your faculty members. This college has done an exceptional job of rebuilding itself for your needs. And as a result, we were recently named one of the top 10 schools in the country specifically because our culture of caring responds to you.
